Offshore Inspection Group provides trainers who have extensive field experience and are also in the forefront of technological advancements. Our coaches connect with younger crew members by discussing technology and tools available.

Our company inspects and evaluates people, processes, and plants to identify where training is required. We further analyze the robustness of training systems for professional development, and provide support for improvements to reduce the occurrence of errors. In collaboration with clients, we respond wherever we are needed: on consultation calls with overseas crew members; walking the rigs with drill site supervisors; or through virtual and hands-on coaching of crew teams.

Gordon Gillies
Director

Gordon has over 45 years of experience in oil field drilling operations working on a variety of rigs. Prior to his current position as Global Operational Performance NSA Business Advisor for Valaris plc, Gordon worked his way up through the ranks at a variety of companies, including Maersk Contractors and Smedvig Offshore A.S. Norway.

Gordon has a passion for promoting safe working techniques and practices in rig operations. For over a decade, he served as Rigs Excellence Coach for Ensco plc (now Valaris plc). As an OIG Director, Gordon provides coaching to clients in technical operations and safety management systems.

Don McClelland
Executive Vice President and Chief Technical Officer

Don brings over 45 years of experience in the offshore industry. Beginning his career as an electronic technician/rig engineer, Don gained experience as a dynamic positioning operator, commissioning coordinator, surveyor, and consultant surveyor before joining the executive ranks. As our Chief Technical Officer, Don is called on to support our clients and our team on technical and safety issues.
